CASA of Baltimore County Information Session
Aug 2 @ 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Baltimore County, which supports and advocates for Baltimore’s 600 abused and neglected children, will hold an information session:

  • Tuesday, August 2, 6:00 pm – 7:15 pm, Towson CASA Office, 305 W. Chesapeake Ave., Ste 117, Towson, MD 21204

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to provide consistent and caring support for an innocent child involved with the court due to maltreatment.

“Children in foster care typically move from one foster family to another, from one unfamiliar neighborhood and school to another, and they deserve the stability and opportunity that comes with having a safe and permanent home,” says Gwen Farrugia, CASA of Baltimore County’s  Volunteer Recruitment Manager.

“If you live or work in Baltimore County, you can make an impact and help change the lives of these children by becoming a CASA volunteer,” she added.

CASA of Baltimore County currently serves only about 40 percent of local youth in foster care. More volunteers are needed to help more children in need.

Volunteers must be 21 or older, submit an application and complete phone and in-person interviews prior to training. To learn more about being a CASA volunteer in Baltimore County, attend an upcoming information session or call 410-828-0515; visit www.casabaltco.org, or email gfarrugia@casabaltco.org.
