On Saturday, April 25th, we held our 9th Annual Conference at the Judicial Education & Conference Center in Annapolis, MD! We had a wonderful turn-out this year and couldn’t have been more excited to see and interact with some of Maryland’s finest CASA volunteers! This year’s Keynote Speaker, Carol Redding, BLEW US AWAY with her address; she was an inspiration to hear, and we were honored to have her speak. We are also especially grateful for all of our community partners who attended and conducted workshops this year — we couldn’t have done it without them! Thanks, also, to the many CASA staff members and volunteers who helped with set-up, moderating workshops, and other duties to help the day run smoothly.

About the Keynote Speaker:
The keynote provided an overview of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, the findings of which reveal long-term, negative outcomes associated with child abuse and neglect. As a survivor of extensive child abuse and neglect, Redding shared lighthearted, humorous stories about the magnificent power of resilience and hope.
