Maryland CASA Association Welcomes Kelly Ringer to Board of Directors
Towson, MD. - Maryland Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association welcomes Kelly Ringer, a Human Resources Program Manager for the Department of Defense and Baltimore City (Patterson Place) resident, as the newest member of their board of directors.“My goal is to increase the visibility of CASA while fostering relationships within the community,” said Ringer. “[I am motivated by] a strong belief in the mission of CASA and the desire to be a part of such a wonderful organization.”Ringer holds a bachelor’s degree in Family Science from the University of Maryland-College Park, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She also holds a master’s degree and post graduate certification from Towson University in Human Resource Development as well as Management and Leadership Development, respectively.Ringer is a recipient of the University of Maryland-College Park Senior Medalist award, which is presented every year to a graduating senior who “best exemplifies academic distinction, outstanding character and extracurricular contributions to the university or public communities,” according to the institution’s website. She is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate holder, a certificate given to project management professionals who complete and pass a rigorous exam, according to the International Association for Six Sigma Certification.Ringer is also an engaged member of her community, as she is a participant in the Towson Professional Leadership Program for Women, as well as a Dance Instructor at the Davy Dance Academy.“We are very enthusiastic about welcoming Kelly to the CASA family,” said Lisa Lunghofer, Board President for Maryland CASA. “She will be a great asset to our team and be able to provide insight into how to continue to strengthen our organization.”Maryland CASA Association is a private, non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to ensuring the rights of all children to safe, permanent homes. This mission is carried out in partnership with fifteen local CASA programs throughout the state, which recruit, train and supervise volunteers appointed by the court to serve as advocates for children under court protection due to abuse and neglect.
