CUMBERLAND– CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Allegany County invites wine enthusiasts and families alike to join together for a day of fun that will benefit abused and neglected children in foster care. The non-profit’s second annual CASA: Uncorked event will take place Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Canal Place in Cumberland, Md (13 Canal St, Cumberland, MD 21502) and will feature wines from eight of Maryland’s finest vineyards, wares from various shops and vendors, as well as food, artisans, live music, art and more.In addition to wine tasting and fun with friends and family, attendees are also encouraged to learn about volunteer opportunities with CASA to provide a voice to one of the more than 70 abused and neglected children in foster care of Allegany County.“We are excited about the 2nd Annual CASA Uncorked! Last year’s Uncorked had over 1,000 in attendance, and our agency was amazed by the support of the community,” said Misty Raines, Executive Director of CASA of Allegany County. “In addition to Uncorked being a fundraiser, we hope it will be a ‘friendraiser’ that helps more members of the community become familiar with CASA’s mission, spread the word about our work and, ideally, get inspired to become volunteers.”All proceeds from the event will directly support CASA of Allegany County. Pre-event tickets are on sale for $20/person, $25 at the door. Price of ticket includes unlimited wine tasting and an event wine glass. Discount tickets are available for those who choose not to drink; children 12 and under are free.
