Maryland CASA Welcomes Atiya AbdurRahman to Board of Directors
Baltimore, MD. (Mar. 17, 2020) – Maryland CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Association has appointed Atiya AbdurRahman to the Board of Directors.AbdurRahman, who lives in Randallstown, is currently the Director of Human Resources at Marriott International and is responsible for talent acquisition for the hospitality company. Prior to her work at Marriott, AbdurRahman earned a Master’s Degree in Negotiations & Conflict Management at the University of Baltimore.AbdurRahman hopes to share her expertise in strategic planning, evaluation, and accountability measures as a board member with Maryland CASA. She will serve on the Board Governance Committee.“Over the past 10 years, I have served as a business-leader and strategic partner as a Human Resource Director,”AbdurRahman said. “As a parent, I have a fundamental belief that every child regardless of circumstance deserves the right to be in a safe, loving, and caring home.” She added her that her commitment to children and to her community motivated her to get involved with Maryland CASA. “I am deeply concerned with the rights of children and the need for advocacy to ensure that no child gets lost in the system.
