Charm City Trivia features Maryland CASA for the month of June

Maryland CASA Association had the honor of partnering with Charm City Trivia as a featured organization in their fundraising series this June. Charm City Trivia, first started in Baltimore in 2006 as a passion project, has since expanded and now runs a variety of events all over the state. The June fundraising series will be held virtually, consisting of four themed trivia nights on each Sunday of the month. Maryland CASA is featured alongside Comfort Cases, another Maryland-based nonprofit dedicated to improving the wellbeing of foster children.Charm City Trivia reached out to us in May to create the fundraising series, which is a new format compared to their usual charity events. Instead of donating proceeds to a different charity each week, Charm City Trivia will collect donations throughout June and split the final amount between the two featured organizations. They have dedicated the month to foster care awareness and chose to spotlight Maryland CASA and Comfort Cases as two organizations promoting child welfare in the community. In addition to raising money for our organization, we are grateful to Charm City Trivia for the opportunity to spread awareness about the issues facing abused and neglected children, the national CASA program, and how we support CASA programs throughout Maryland.We are also honored to be highlighted alongside Comfort Cases, an admirable organization that helps give children a sense of hope and dignity as they enter foster care. Foster children often face a difficult transition as they adapt to a new home. Many are removed from past homes without any personal belongings to speak of, while others will be given trash bags to transport their belongings. Comfort Cases addresses this issue by providing backpacks with toiletries and other essentials. We thank Comfort Cases for filling this unfortunate gap in the child welfare system.Each Sunday trivia night this June, Maryland Casa and Comfort Cases receive a majority of every registration fee along with any additional donations. The four nights have different themes, so there’s plenty of variety to satisfy trivia nerds and casual players alike. The first and second events took place over the last two weeks, with questions on Harry Potter and Broadway shows. This upcoming Sunday, June 20^th will test players’ Star Wars knowledge, and on June 27^th all trivia will be Disney-themed.
