Maryland CASA Provides Free On-Demand Learning Platform

An online training platform has been launched by Maryland CASA. Free to any member of the Maryland CASA community looking to sign-up, the platform called "Litmos" provides a Course Library of online, self-paced, clickable, training courses. These courses vary in content and the library will be updated with additional courses and resources as they become available. While volunteers may benefit by gaining credit for completing the courses, any user will automatically receive a Certificate of Attendance after completing a course.Litmos allows users to learn at their own pace while providing additional training opportunities that are available 24/7 to volunteers and any other member with access to our Maryland CASA Training Guide. This special service is unlike Maryland CASA's other training formats with about 13 different modules available to users at any time at no cost.Interested in what's next on our Litmos platform? Maryland CASA is working on a new module that will address aspects of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB). The Culturally Responsive Child Advocacy On-Demand course will include topics around Cultural Competence, Cultural Responsiveness, and Cultural Humility, and how they can be used to best advocate for the neglected and abused children we serve. This course works to help others develop an understanding and the skills needed to become more culturally responsive in child welfare practices. It is critical for child welfare professionals to focus on equity throughout the child welfare continuum from prevention, guidance, assessments, and strategies in support of improved outcomes for children and families of color.Learn more about how to create and access your OWN Litmos account at https://marylandcasa.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/2020-Training-Guide-Final.pdf
